J. Stuart Kruse, CFA
Stuart Kruse designed a breakthrough model for investing, formulated to maximize the odds a client will achieve financial goals. Since its inception, the Kruse Quantitative Value Portfolio, or QVP, has outperformed the S&P 500 approximately 80 percent of all 90 day periods. Mr. Kruse built Kruse Asset Management in 2007, after 7 years with Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. where he originally systemized the QVP. During QVP development in 2005, Bear Stearns Asset Management audited and approved this unique model to be run on a discretionary basis for clients of Kruse and other brokers. While at Bear Stearns, Mr. Kruse managed investments totaling over $100 million, and closely advised on an additional $800 million in assets for other groups.
Mr. Kruse earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical engineering from Northwestern University with a minor concentration in Economics. He received his MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management with concentrations in Finance, Decision Sciences (Game Theory), Marketing and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Mr. Kruse is also a CFA Charterholder.
In addition to his work with Kruse Asset Management, Mr. Kruse is proud to serve on the Chicago Board of the Posse Foundation, which organizes full-scholarship for avenue for inner-city high school students to attend prestigious liberal arts colleges and university in groups of ten (a Posse) per year. Mr. Kruse has served as an adjunct professor at Concordia University’s MBA program teaching classes in Entrepreneurial Finance and Strategic & Ethical Leadership. Mr. Kruse currently serves as an advisor to YCharts.com, an innovative financial website.

Matthew Kraus, Managing Director
Matt Kraus comes to Kruse Asset Management with 25 years of specialized expertise in the area of fixed income investments, derivatives and risk management. As a Managing Director at KAM, Matt Kraus focuses on fixed income and derivative strategies for the sophisticated investor, as well as individuals and institutions. By educating his clients about the many mis-cues that are inherent to individual investment portfolios, he is able to support his creed that “an educated investor is the best investor.” With his tenure at the New York and Chicago trading desks in the Institutional Fixed Income Department at Morgan Stanley, Matt has garnered much respect as the go-to-guy with options and derivatives on the exchange.
Again, history has proven that a one-dimensional focus on equities can leave an individual investor subject to undue risk. It is with this in mind that Matt’s fixed income expertise proves essential to our clients. With a low percentage of professional advisors hedging strategies, Matt holds an elite title amongst many traders and investors at large, having even served as an instructor for many educational seminars on the topic of fixed income investments. At KAM, Matt will continue to apply this sought-after skill set and knowledge of individual investors and institutions by teaching and carefully advising his clients on the risks, benefits and roadblocks of different fixed income products and strategies. Whether it is for an institution or an active investor, Matt can assist clients with establishing yield enhancement trades and hedging strategies for all fixed income products, futures and options.
Matt is a graduate of The College of William & Mary with a degree in economics where he split his time as a scholar and star athlete. During his time at The College of William & Mary, Matt was a four year varsity Lacrosse player and two-time captain He carried with him his passion for Lacrosse into the youth arena, where has coached developing players for the past decade..
Matt currently resides in a Winnetka, Illinois with his wife and six children.
